Chris Currin is the Director of Pharmacy and co-founder of Rx3 Pharmacy, a specialty compounding pharmacy located in Richmond, Virginia.

Chris was exposed to pharmacy at an early age.  His father and uncle, both pharmacists, owned local pharmacies in the Richmond, Virginia area.  He spent his summers during high school working at his father’s pharmacy.  After graduating from Hampden Sydney College, Chris decided to follow his father’s footsteps graduating from the Medical College of Virginia (VCU) College of Pharmacy in 1995.  Soon after, Chris partnered with his father to open a specialty compounding pharmacy, realizing his dream of providing customized patient care.   Rx3 Pharmacy opened its doors on October 1, 1995 and has become a recognized leader in providing custom compounding.

Chris serves as director of the residency program at Rx3 Pharmacy.  He lectures to both patient-based support groups as well as physicians groups on topics such as Pain Management and Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy.   His post-graduate education has included certifications in Pain Management, Hospice Care, Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy, and Sterile Compounding.

In addition to being an Associate Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, College of Pharmacy, Chris is associated with several professional affiliations including American College of Apothecaries, Professional Compounding Centers of America, Virginia Pharmacy Association, and the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists.

Chris resides in Manakin Sabot with his wife Shannon and their daughter Lauren.  When not working, Chris enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.

 
   
 

Jim Andreesen

Partner/Pharmacist

Sonny is one of the pharmacists and co-founder of Rx3 Pharmacy, a specialty compounding pharmacy located in Richmond, Virginia.

Sonny graduated from Medical College of Virginia (VCU) College of Pharmacy in 1959 and has over 40 years of compounding experience. He owned and operated a chain of five pharmacies before forming a partnership with Chris Currin, R.Ph. to open Rx3 Pharmacy. Rx3 Pharmacy opened its doors on October 1, 1995 and has become a recognized leader in providing specialty care.

In addition to serving on the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy for eight years, Sonny has been a member of the Virginia State Board of Health Professions and the Chesterfield Board of Supervisors.  His post-graduate education has included certification in Pain Management, Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy, and Sterile Compounding.

Sonny is associated with several professional affiliations including Professional Compounding Centers of America, Virginia Pharmacy Association, and the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists.

Sonny resides in Chester with his wife Betty.  He has four sons; Carthan, Bradley, Chris and Alan, and a granddaughter, Lauren.  When not working, Sonny enjoys golf and spending time with his family.

Shannon P. Currin
Specialty Compounding Representative/Director of Marketing

Shannon Currin joined Rx3 Pharmacy, a specialty compounding pharmacy located in Richmond, Virginia, in June 2006 as Director of Marketing.  A highly motivated sales professional with over eight years of pharmaceutical sales experience, Shannon brings strong motivational and sales-relationship building qualities to the Rx3 Pharmacy team.

Shannon graduated cum laude with a BA in Biology from Hollins University in 1998. After graduation Shannon started her pharmaceutical career with Parke-Davis in Richmond, Virginia with the Diabetes Specialty Division.  In 2000, Shannon joined Pfizer Pharmaceuticals with the Cardiovascular Specialty Division.  Over the years in pharmaceutical sales, Shannon has had the opportunity to work with a variety of products bringing her into contact with the majority of specialist and family practice physicians in the Richmond area. 

Shannon resides in Manakin Sabot with her husband Chris and their daughter Lauren.  When not working, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family and competing with her horses on the hunter/jumper circuit.
